If they are left in, Ubuntu will install fine with grub2, and boot fine as many times as you like. I'm not exactly sure which one, but what I wound up doing was removing most of them (they're mostly bloat anyway). This is normally not a problem, except that some of the security tools that come installed on the TC4400 from HP, write to this part of the mbr. On thing you need to be aware of before you install grub2, is that it takes up more space in the Master Boot Record (mbr). For some reason M$ decided to not include WinXP cd-s with all TabletPC's, so you can't re-install easily. My TC4400 has WinXP TabletPC edidition partition, and one Ubuntu 9.10, but is still legacy grub. So I think that the "shareholder riches" connotation is misplaced. That's a hard argument to make to someone working two or more part-time jobs to make ends meet.Code: dd if=/dev/sda of=path_to_your_usb_drive/my_tc4400.ddThis makes a complete image of the machine, which you can use to restore the machine completely, in case something goes horribly wrong. Sure the absolute unemployment rate is low, but many of those jobs are minimum-wage, benefitless, part-time gigs. When a new parent, with an infant in the NICU is unable to spend time with their wife and baby because they're working three part-time jobs, something is amiss in America. That does not reinforce the creation and maintenance of solid, stable family units. I'm a capitalist, not a wage-worker, so I fully understand the concepts behind capitalism, but as an employer, I also realize that in order for my workforce to produce at their maximum potential, and as a result, maximize my profits, I have to value them, reward them for good performance, and get them to buy in to the idea that their work is meaningful, not milk them for every penny and hour that I can. That I am a successful capitalist is testament to my business ethic. Tom Rutledge is the cancer hurting Spectrum!Īnd I will never believe otherwise! TWC had the MAXX upgrades to 100MB planned for everyone. Even legacy TWC subs, before Tommy Boy took them away. Rutledge took away Whole House DVR service for new customers. Rutledge re-issued old crappy cable boxes back into the field when TWC worked so hard for five years to get rid of them. Rutledge took away TWC Retentions, who was at least willing to work with customers each year to get a better deal. Your now forced to take Spectrum billing to get 100mg Internet. He even said himself, no more deals once promotions expire. Reps are now threatened with pick slips if they give customers more than a $10 credit to anyone not on a promotion. Tom Rutledge removed the six-tuner DVR options for new customers. It is soley because of Tom Rutledge's leadership! Tom Rutledge cares only about the money in his pocket and getting to work each day in his ******* helicopter! Don't believe anything else! Spectrum is far worse than TWC. I have been with TWC on and off since 2006. I remember getting standard internet from them at 7/1 back in 2006. Up to 15/1 when Charter took over a year ago. I remember even for Business Class, only 50/5 being the maximum available. Now, under Charter, Business class has jumped dramatically. Gone are the three year contracts, and the $200+ a month for 50/5 internet. Now we can get 100/10 business class internet for our business for $79.99 a month, everyday price. That is a dramatic improvement and savings. and now it is month to month service over the 3 year contract we originally had.įor home service, yes. and now I don't have to pay to upgrade my own modem anymore, either. because the monthly $8.00/month for modem rental is gone (like many said, rolled into the price). While the 100 download isn't necessary for many, the 10 mbps upload is very nice to finally get for storing files on the cloud or uploading videos I produce. I say overall, I have had good service at the local Spectrum store, gotten answers I need, consistent service. so I am satisfied with them both in residential and commercial. more-so than the other alternative, AT&T. I say he is doing a fair job.įor home service, yes. I was able to renegotiate my 15/1 internet at the $34.99 promo rate consistently. Now you are stuck with Spectrum for $64.99 no matter what.
